A certain saturated beauty

Caving in Ontario can be a rewarding experience if you are willing to put the time in and enjoy the entire experience.
As mentioned, I had planned a trip this Saturday and rain or shine I was intent on going. Sadly it rained very heavily at times and the bugs were at their Ontario best. Within minutes of leaving the car we resigned ourselves to being wet and wet we got all day – though the rain and mist added a certain saturated beauty (in several senses) to the landscape.
This tunnel should be well known to any who have visited the area and its keyhole shape suggests initial formation beneath the water table and later action by running water that has carved a trench along its bottom.
