The photograph is taken just outside Orosi on the Reventazon River. The Reventazon is famous for its extreme whitewater. Up near Orosi, the headwaters are suitable for novice paddlers but down in the lower section of the river, just before Squirres the rapids are truly "world class".

This photo was taken by a companion on a dig that I had been working on last year. A tube led down to a pool some 40 feet below where divers would soon, we hoped, be able to join a subterranean tunnel.

The drudgery of a 15 hour shift yesterday culminated last night at 11:30 with my crew and I finishing the night with a smoke break, this taken at some sodden old picnic tables outside the factory.
