Bad Sleep
April 14, 2006 by rockwatching
Greetings bloggers, It’s six am, Saturday morning. I dont sleep well before caving or cave hunting. To many thoughts churning over in my head. I havent slept more than an hour all night. A coffee should help so I may as well start getting ready right now.
As you may have noticed by now I am especially interested in Ontario’s caves. At a glance they appear more rare than in many places to the south but I have this theory that they are still here in quantity, they are just buried by glacial till. Scott Ensminger and I are meeting at 10 to investigate a promising area. Doug and I had found a small cave at the edge of a stream and though he is floored by his ailments today the search will still continue. I think that by the removal of a few boulders we will expose a joint, partially filled with water but with some good potential. I notice that when the river is in flood the water flows into the rocks here and through a small hole I can see low flooded passages beyond. At the time easy removal of the rubble blockage was not possible as it was frozen in place.
Things are running really slow with the computer. My son Joshua tells me I have to re format and also add more RAM so that is what I will be doing tomorrow. He thinks I need a “one gig stick”. What on earth is that? In a nutshell you probably wont hear from me until Sunday.
