Rock and Gem
April 11, 2006 by rockwatching
This morning just as I was getting ready to drive Maggie to work (She owns a bead store in Guelph), I checked the mail box and there was a parcel from Ventura California. I was pretty distressed as I had sent an article to the Magazine “Rock and Gem”, I assumed they were returning it. When I opened the package it held five copies of the magazine’s May issue. Thats me there holding two of the copies. It appears that my article was accepted and it appears on page 80 (Cobalt; a Northern Treasure map).
This last November Ralph Schroetter, President of the Northern Ontario Rock and Mineral Club had asked me to come up and write a piece on the town for Rock and Gem, it is the largest and most well known magazine for mineral collectors. An article would help publicise Cobalt and its amazing rockhounding potential. Needless to say I had begun to doubt that things would come together. Well here it is Ralph, see you some time this summer.
